Do JimJams ever use other musicians in place of the core members?

James Harrison will always front the band. However, due to some of the members having the occasional tour or session work there are times when JimJams have to use other musicians. Rest assured any musicians used in JimJams are of a high professional quality. Here are some of the names & websites of musicians JimJams use: Pete Watson, Paul Walsham, Karl Penny, Jack Stevens, Jay Irving Marco Bernardis, Mike Davis & Paul Burton of Hot City Horns Mike Smith and Jake Woodward

How much space does the band need?

Approximately 16ft x 13ft (5m x 4m) is adequate for the standard 4-piece band. We will need more space if you opt for a larger band. Once we know how large the band is we will email you the minimum stage space required. A stage is not essential but a bonus if you have one. The band will also need a minimum of two mains sockets close to the performance area.

Do you provide your own sound and lighting equipment?

JimJams provide all sound and lighting equipment if required. The main P.A is a high standard 1.5kw RCF system (2x 400 watt tops and 1x700 watt sub), which caters for most venue sizes (up to 500 capacity). We also have professional LED stage lighting and dance floor lighting. Some venues may require a larger sound/light system, so please let us know if your venue and guest list is extremely large.

What will the band wear?

The band can adapt their look to your individual needs. If it is a formal occasion they will be very smartly dressed with the men in suits/waistcoats and ties and the ladies in dresses. Equally, if your event requires a more casual look the band can cater for this too.

Can we request songs?

With enough notice JimJams can perform your 1st dance song or possibly learn one or two of your favourite songs, depending on the complexity of the track/tracks and whether it is within JimJams vocal ranges. JimJams have played to numerous wedding parties and corporate functions, so with that experience and our extensive list of songs we know what works. However, we will always do our best to cater for your needs.

Can you provide a disco?

JimJams are able to provide music from a laptop, which is auto-mixed within a DJ software package called ‘virtual DJ’. If you have your own playlist of songs we can plug your iPod into our system or you can send us a CD of tracks, which we can then import into ‘virtual DJ’ where they will be automatically mixed to ensure no gaps between songs. If you want disco music to be played beyond 1am then we would recommend you hire a DJ.

Does the band have PAT test certificates?

Yes all our equipment is PAT tested. If your venue requires proof we can send the certificates to them.
